About MudwayWorkman Marquee Contractors

Founded in 1953

Mudway Workman was founded in 1953 by Edward John Mudway, who used his knowledge as a sailmaker in the Royal Navy to manufacture marquees by hand.

In 1972 the company was handed down to his son Graham who had been in the business since leaving school. Paul Workman joined the company in the early 1980s and a partnership was formed five years later. Graham's son Matthew joined the business after leaving college in 1993.

Since the early days of hand-stitched canvas, the marquee industry has advanced. MudwayWorkman's commitment to constant investment in new equipment and technology over the years means they can offer a full range of services from classic traditional marquees to contemporary clearspan structures.
